I became a lawyer in 1992 and have been a Law Society of New South Wales Property Law Accredited Specialist Law since 1997. I have a Master of Environmental Law from the University of Sydney. My expertise in land law led to me writing the syllabus for and teaching property law for a Master’s degree for the College of Law, Sydney.
Before moving to Forster in 2014 with my husband, I practised in Sydney CBD and suburban law firms until I started my own practice. I have experience in most areas of law but specifically
-
Commercial Law encompassing most aspects of business law including franchising, shareholder and partnership agreements
-
Commercial disputes including building disputes
-
Corporate law including risk management
-
Property law not limited to conveyancing but more complicated issues such as creation and removal of covenants and easements, and old system, rural and shared titles
-
Leasing, retail and commercial
-
Wills, Estates, Powers of Attorney and Guardianship
-
Employment law, employment contracts and unfair dismissal applications
-
Litigation in most areas
-
Family law
I have appeared in the Local, District, Supreme, Federal and Family Courts and several tribunals including the State Parole Board. I have been a member of several Law Society committees and worked with the profession in presenting seminars for the profession on several areas of law.
In Sydney for 12 years I was also a lecturer teaching practical training to new lawyers in NSW, interstate and in London and also taught Sports Arbitration Law. The teaching of law requires a sound knowledge and understanding of law.
My practice in Forster has covered several of the above areas and I am keen to continue to provide service to clients in the Great Lakes, Manning and Forster-Tuncurry areas. As a sole practitioner with low overheads I offer a discreet and personal service at reasonable rates.
